To succeed as a Wind Specialist you should be degree qualified in a relevant subject for example, mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering with sound experience of wind projects. You may have come from a design, operations, maintenance or project background. You have excellent commercial and negotiation skills. You’re experienced in brainstorming, issue analysis and experienced in setting up business cases.

Opportunities at Consultant level also exist for more experienced candidates, and it is hoped that the person will become the Lead Wind Specialist within the company.

For this, some experience of people management and building teams would be desirable.
Experience working on offshore wind projects;

Consulting experience within power sector;

Fluent English and German speaker.

As a Maritime Civil Engineer, you will be involved on a range of small to large projects which are industry and public high profile. The roles will be challenging, demanding, varied and offer fantastic opportunities for skill set and career development.

- Assist in the Management of various stages of maritime engineering projects including strategy evaluation, detailed appraisal, concept development, detailed design and administration of contracts.
- In time you will assist the senior colleagues of the Maritime Division with the overall commercial and technical running off the business.
- You will be responsible for the management of a wide range of global port and marine terminal projects.
- You will be involved in the planning, design and construction of maritime structures including oil, gas, bulk materials; general cargo and container terminals, harbours, dredging, reclamation and breakwaters for clients world-wide.
- You will assist in leading, developing, motivating and managing a team of professionals.
- You will assist in the compilation and writing of proposals.
Candidates will already be in possession of relevant academic qualifications, be exceptionally experienced since post-qualified in chartership and able to demonstrate exceptional Maritime Technical competences. They should also have the necessary drive to achieve their goals and deliver commercial success.

- The ideal candidate will be ambitious and highly motivated with approximately 10 to 15 years post graduate experience in Maritime Engineering.
- You will be a Chartered engineer with management experience and ideally, a background within a consulting engineering practice.
- You will ideally have extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of maritime structures including oil, gas, bulk materials; general cargo and container terminals, harbours, dredging, reclamation and breakwaters for clients world-wide, together with a proven track record.
- Ideally, you will have exposure to UK and international experience and business development.
- You will have experience in providing design services to contractors on major design and construct contracts and in co-ordinating multi-disciplinary design teams.
- You will be self motivated with strong interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and excellent organisational skills
- You will have excellent technical and managerial skills and have a sound commercial background.

This work includes all aspects of the mechanical and electrical infrastructure necessary for their successful operation. Due to the increase in the demand for these services we now require a mechanical engineer to join our team to carry out design and project management work. The design work covers all aspects of the ventilation of underground metro systems and rail, road and utility tunnels.

The successful candidate will report to a Team Leader and be based in Surrey. He/she will manage the tunnel (and station) ventilation aspects of projects of various sizes, both from a technical and managerial perspective, using the staff resources available within the team. If appropriate this will be extended to include the management of multi-disciplinary teams.

He/she will supervise and check the work of junior engineers and support their professional development in respect of ventilation design.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop relationships with key clients and continue to promote our client effectively and the services they offer. He/she will be expected to play a key role in business development.

As Principal Coastal Engineer, this role is a key strategic addition to the established team, enabling development of market presence, client delivery and the teams technical depth. Working within the team and alongside teams in multi-disciplinary projects, this is a strategic development presenting a challenging and varied long term career opportunity.

Job Description:

A Technical expert in Coastal engineering, the role will be working closely with a range of multi-disciplinary project teams leading or contributing to project deliverables. A key strategic addition, the individual will be a lead to junior team members, instrumental in project tendering, bidding and management through to delivery.

Responsibilities of the role include but not be limited to:
- Providing expert engineering geomorpholgical and geological input for large multi-disciplinary teams for a variety of major ground engineering, infrastructure and coastal projects.
- Design and manage integrated site investigations, including specification and contractual arrangements. Preparation of bid documents, and geotechnical submissions for design and build tenders and contracts
- Business development role for coastal and geomorphological business streams
- Project management for geotechnical and planning considerations covering ecological, conservation and construction planning conditions, and river wall and jetty integrity.
- Project dependent, manage dredging, offshore disposal, shore protection, marine hydrodynamics and coffer dam closure tender design elements as part of the overall multi-disciplinary team submission.
- Developed ground models for a sub-station site associated with off-shore wind farm development.
- managing the provision of a remediation solution that included rock bolted timber facings with associated lightweight fill and drainage measures.
- Oversee the design process, undertaking numerical wave modelling and produced contract documents
- Assistance with growing the coastal team and their skills basis
- Project resource management including resourcing, programming, commercial matters and delivery

Candidate Specification:

Reporting to the Coastal Divisional Director, applicants should be exceptionally technically skills and experienced since obtaining chartership. They should also have the necessary drive to achieve their goals and deliver commercial success.

- A degree in Civil/Coastal Engineering (or equivalent) with an MSc/MEng or MA preferably but not essential.
- Chartered engineer is essential. Additional qualifications of benefit.
- It is essential that an applicant has a depth and range of project delivery experience in coastal engineering and geomorphology engineering design
- Professional report writing and an aptitude and desire to further develop these skills.
- Ideally experienced in project management and the ability to work independently whilst also working well as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ideally, candidates should have knowledge of hydrodynamic issues associated with coastal engineering including wave height development, wave run-up over-topping assessments etc
- Experience of bid preparation and business development would also be beneficial
- General understanding of coastal flooding issues
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

Within the F&E team,expertise relating to the generation planning, distribution and transmission planning and advisory work. Our client is seeking to maintain and expand this capability.

Job Description

The role requires working with a multidisciplinary team that examines all economic and commercial aspects of various types of energy related projects. Work may involve the following:

Due Diligence of electricity transmission and distribution projects

• Valuation of generating, distribution and transmission assets
• Review of capital and operational expenditure plans for DNOs
• Generation / transmission planning
• Feasibility & tariff studies
• Loss reduction studies
• Advice to support reorganisation / acquisition of distribution businesses
• Regulatory advice

In addition, the role would involve managing or leading project work, retaining and developing relationships with clients and potentially developing new business opportunities.

The selected person will work closely with our existing power system expert and will report to the team leader of the Finance & Economics Team.

Candidate Specification

Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:
Individuals with a detailed ‘hands-on’ knowledge of the electricity distribution businesses.

Candidates should have experience in working for a distribution business.

Desired academic, professional qualifications and experience:

All applicants should be educated to degree level.
Experience of regulatory issues in relation to the electricity sector
