Senior Quality Engineer

Our major client is looking to recruit a Senior Quality Engineer (Power Station)

Job Purpose:
Lead the development and delivery of quality policies, processes and manuals for the coal fleet to ensure long term quality standards and systems compliance.
Principal Accountabilities:
•Management of quality specification and related systems with specific attention to critical areas of strategic component replacement, design changes and repairs.
•Technical specification and assurance control of procurement processes with specific attention to materials quality
•Validation of plant work with specific attention to materials replacement after failure, strategic component replacement including, but not limited to, welding and heat treatment processes, materials changes and plant modifications.
•Development and control of procedures related to quality control and quality assurance.
•Co-ordination of standards, norms, good practice guides and specific quality related instructions.
•Leading plant risk evaluation, analysis and assessment group for risk prioritisation.
•Auditing internal systems for quality control and external suppliers for quality standards.
•Assisting management on validation of materials, works and processes related to outsourcing
•Any other requirements as may be needed from time to time.
Nature and Scope
Quality assurance (QA) aims to ensure that the organisation is fit for purpose and meets both external and internal requirements, including legal compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
Critical:
•Engineering Degree level qualification or equivalent
•A strong understanding of the principles and concepts on which Quality and Quality Assurance underpin the activities of an organisation
•Strong leadership skills
•A positive change management attitude
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•Has resilience and ability to effectively challenge at all levels

Desirable:
•Chartered membership of an engineering professional institution
•Proven knowledge and experience in understanding, evaluating and assessing risk across technical disciplines to provide options to mitigate plant risk and extend plant life gained within the electricity generating industry.
