Manage portfolio of commodities and develop, communicate and implement a global sourcing strategy for commodity spend. Constantly drive to reduce purchasing costs through cost down initiatives; identification and implementation of cost improvement activities. Utilise best practise Procurement techniques. Create a negotiating strategy based on factual information and through knowledge of the supply base. Devise & implement a sourcing strategy per commodity utilising resources & company buying power in line with business needs QDC and innovation. Lead continuous improvement intiatives and purchasing NPI activities. Collaborate with Supplier development engineer to ensure continuous improvement in QDC with Key suppliers. Develop mutually beneficial supplier relationships at all organisational levels. Provide leadership for sourcing and resource management decisions. Provide cover in Procurement Mgrs absence at monthly board and management mtgs. Achieve agreed in year & annualised cost down targets and build the funnel for future purchase price reduction. Analyse commodity spend and supply base performance; identify opportunities within group companies for synergy sourcing, supplier consolidation and performance improvement. You will continually strive for Puchase Price Reduction, improved QDCI performance, low cost region sourcing % and increase suppliers readiness for NPI. You will have significant pertinent strategic buying experience within one or more of the following industries; automotive, aerospace or electronic/mechanical component manufacture. You must have experience of controlling a £6M+ spend and solid international buying experience. Candidates with significant experience in buying from China will be a distinct advantage.
